[Encore] Java applet fails to load

 The message displayed in the browser is that the applet failed, so I figure
the server is presenting something that the browser can`t understand. I
checked the apache logs and I have a failure on the trash.gif not being
found. 

I have checked the values and they all look ok, I have also checked
permissions on the directories.

I was wondering which client you would suggest I could use.

Failing how? Is there a message? Is there even an attempt to load it? At 
what stage does it stop? Have you checked all the path and file names 
involved ($xpress_client and $player properties); do they match the 
actual location of the java applet on your server?
