Of course enCore is a MUVE by definition.

Oddly enough this paper doesn't mention enCore:

Probably a horrible oversight on the author's part :-)

I have had a brief email correspondence with Curt Hill the builder of this
MOO and he has kindly sent me links to some papers on some of the cool
setups there.  I'll post some of the links at the Barn shortly.

An enCore learning environment being used in a "non-traditional" way IMHO.

FWIW I don't think we are "going the way of the Dodo" unless we try to
change enCore to do things it is not suited for. That is just asking for
trouble I think. 

Curt Hill's Programmingland MOO is a good example of making use of the
simple system to do cool things rather than making a cool but, overly
complex, system to maybe do things.
