Good Morning

I have ported a version of the Object Browser from TECFAMOO over to EnCore.
Thanks to Dr Daniel K.Schneider, AKA Kaspar, at TECFAMOO for access and
permission to port. :-)

This is a very useful tool for learning how the code works inside enCore
MOOs.
The version running on my MOO is available to browse here:

HYPERLINK "http://seafarer.no-ip.biz:8889/"http://seafarer.no-ip.biz:8889/
(This is not a big server so be gentle)

The Object Browser allows you too browse through the object hierarchy,
examine the properties and verbs on the objects and look at the MOO code
itself. Verbs and objects are hyperlinked in the code display which permits
the easy tracking of how the programs flow from verb to verb and object to
object. There are also hyperlinks to the help files associated with the
built-in verbs.

This object is part of a suite of files developed at TECFAMOO in Geneva
called EWEB.
The system consists of an in MOO Web server and associated utilities running
entirely in MOO code.
While not as integrated as enCore's WEB system it has one big advantage and
that is clarity and simplicity. The Object Browser runs on top of the EWEB
web server and gives a point and click interface for browsing objects, code
and help files from outside the MOO itself using a web browser.

This is such a useful tool that I have put together a package of files that
can be used as a local desktop MOO reference for EnCore V4 systems. The
package consists of a generic enCore V4 core with the EWEB objects already
installed and configured to run when the MOO starts up. Also included in the
package is a copy of WINMOO already setup to run the enCore db with a
shortcut. (This is a full version of enCore so it could be used as such on
a Windows box if desired.)

Once the files are extracted to a directory on your PC you can start WINMOO
and then point your Web browser to HYPERLINK
"http://localhost:8889"http://localhost:8889 and you will have access to the
Object Browser. Very cool if you are doing development on an enCore system
and want to be able to trace through the verbs and properties of the generic
system. I have also included a copy of TKMOO lite in the package if you want
to connect to the local MOO and play around. :-)

I will post the package at the Barn once the documentation is done.

I will also post the base objects that can be ported to your active MOOs if
you want.

In the mean time feel free to give the one at my MOO a run and let me now
what you think.

Ciao
KJ
