[Encore] More on connection issues v5 beta

I had to finally chime in and try it myself.

Windows: XP sp2

FireFox 1.5.0.7

IE : 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519

I have found that it works fine in FF, if I use the IE tab for FF it does
not . If I use IE it does not.

The difference is I have IE set to as DUMB (aka safe) as possible. The funny
thing is I have everything set to ASK instead of just pure deny. This to me
implies it's a problem within the changes M$ made to its browser. Just to
keep it all in the clear I have addblock and popup blockers that run. IF you
approve the site it works fine.

Now to make it even funnier. I used FF first and then IE.. IF I use IE first
then FF. I get e_perm and I can no longer use the site.

Good evening.

I tried accessing the beta site again using IE making sure the popupblocker
was disabled (it was before actually) and the same thing happens.

I enabled the popup blocker and let it stop the who browser.

Then I told it to always allow popups from lingo.

When I tried to open the who browser again I got this:

Sorry, a little error occurred.

If this persists, please talk to an administrator. Thanks.

Now I can no longer login at all, the above message is all I ever get.

I was logging in as a guest.

Dump cookies still no go.

So much for that. :-(

I did notice an interesting thing with Firefox though.

I have an extension for Firefox called "IE Tab" this allows you to open a
website INSIDE a Firefox tab using a modified version of IE. This works
great because I can leave Adblock enabled and still access the V5 beta!

What's more I can open ALL the toolbar applications and they open in new
tabs instead of popups.

This get's a much deserved "Way Cool" from me :-)

Ciao

KJ

P.S. The IE Tab extension for Firefox can be downloaded here:
