Hi Julian
That sounds really interesting.
Have you checked out the RPG core.
It is a LambdaMOO core heavily modified for RPGs.
You can get it here:

na/rpgmoo.html
I actually got the idea of using a container object as the base for the
weather system from there.
I can send you an @dump of the current files in my weather system so you can
see how they work if you like.
Make sure you check out the original paper and pencil weather system it is
based on here:

Subject: RE: [Encore] What happened to lingua.utdallas.edu?
Well, I'm actually developing a roleplaying game using the encore engine,
but I've only just started building it. However, I'm taking the building
process slow as I want to start with a fairly realistic planet ecosystem
(much of the game will be focused on cooperative basic survival)
This is a large project, I know, which requires a lot of planning, and I've
only done very basic MUSH coding before this.
So the long answer is, I'm actually interested in both parts of the system,
but the MOO codebase and its flexibility (at least I believe) simply can't
be beat for this level of detail. On the other side, I chose the encore
addition to it because I want the ability to add multimedia and visual
atmosphere but still keeping the deeply detailed environs at the forefront.
I was wondering specifically if I could maybe convince you to allow me
access to your MOO, so I can see how your weather system works? I think it
would assist me greatly in developing mine.
Anyway, thanks for your interest!
