I'll second those wishes!
Plus, while you're hanging around doing nothing :-)
Why not extract some of your more interesting objects and bundle them up for
me to post at the Barn.

I'm also interested in "How To" documents , tricks, tips and procedures that
people have found useful in their EnCore systems.
I hope your Holidays are happy ones for you and your families!
Ciao

Subject: [Encore] Holiday Greetings! Holiday projects?
Hi Everyone,
I want to send all of you good karma for the holidays and the new
year. It has been a good year for enCore since we have a new version
to play with.
Like me, you may perhaps have a bit more time on your hands over the
holidays, so I wanted to suggest some possible enCore related
projects that some of you might be interested in pursuing. Please
feel free to add to this list:
a) Is it possible (and can someone figure out how to make it
possible) to install v5 into a professionally hosted space via Cpanel? I am
happy to let anyone who may want to try attempt with a webhosted
space either I have or the consortium has. If we can successfully
host enCore in sites like this, that means individuals for $50 a year
can host their own enCore environments without depending upon their
unresponsive local IT department.
b) Set of CSS templates for different object descriptions
As you might have noticed in v5, the easy ability to change the
appearance of objects has changed. All appearances are manipulated
via css code. Now Trond and Daniel may think css is easy, but for
most of us css is not so easy. I was thinking if anyone were a css
guru that we might come up with a number of pre-made css codes for
objects. I guess they would be sort of like "skins" we could
choose. The trick then would be to make this code available from
within the program, but I think if we do some work with the
single-source documentation that we can get these preset appearances
to appear and be easily selectable.
c) Blog?
We might, just, might even create a number of "blog" looking "skins"
and create a special blog object. Perhaps it could be built from the
Generic Note as a new generic. I'm not sure if we can set up other
blog features like links and rss, but it might be interesting to see
if this is possible.
d) Are we happy with the installation instructions?
Do we have clear instructions (AND any needed scripts) for backing up
an enCore installation? Instructions for restoring a backup copy?
Other ideas?
