Key Project
enCore v5 Release
The Consortium intends to support the release of the new version 5 of enCore in any way possible. Most noteably, the Consortium intends to support the creation of documentation for v5 as well as help arrange Usability Testing of the beta version of the program. Other support projects may emerge during the year.
The Promotion
of the Consortium
This task includes publicizing the Consortium's activities, continuing
to sign up new members, and seeking funding--from grants, institutions,
and individuals--to support the Consortium's work.
The Consortium was a sponsor for the Feb. 2006 Computers & Writing 2006 Conference which held a Symposium within the Texas Tech English MOO (an enCore site and Consortium associate).
enCore Grant Promotion
The Consortium seeks to write and support grants which involve work with enCore. The Consortium seeks to form partnerships with sponsors to help promote their own goals while also promoting the development of enCore.
Particular grant goals of the Consortium this year include
--The enCore Documentation Project: to support the creation of a single-source documentation solution for enCore
--The Vassar NITRE Foreign Languages Grant: includes a summer workshop at Vassar
--A possible National Endowment for the Humanities Grant Application in October 2006.
Continued Support for Development Projects
The Consortium seeks to continue support for particular development projects identified in its Development Projects page.
